Astrid smiled, silently satisfied her hit had found it's mark. The blonde was getting on her nerves, stupid an darrogant as he was. She wished, oh how she wished, she could send him off a cliff. Or out the top of a tree, or better yet, throw him at a dragon. Astrid took slow steps towards the teen, her fists raised.
"Are you really?" she glowered as he had said he was ready to take a hit. Jumping up and throwin her weight into her right leg, she swung in an arc, Tuffnut's side her main target. After landing a little rocky on the ground, she threw a few punches, the human version of snarls seeping from her throat. She briefly noticed Hiccup hanging to the tree. And she pondered as to why he stayed, he could leave and pretend to never see the fight, or maybe he was scared?
Astrid repeatedly threw punches and kicks, some aimed just at the air before Tuffnut, trying to herd him to the water's edge where she could better attempt to knock him down and take back his words. "Sure your the best, wise guy?" she growled, her blue eyes now chips of cold, hard ice, narrowed to only focus on her victim.
"Spare yourself Tuffnut, you can't take me. Take back what you said, and I'll let you off easy." she sneered, she'd still like to beat the hell out of him, just not completely bash him, well, that was only if he took back what he said. She thought of herself as in one of her top conditions, having slayed a dragon, as well as trained every morning for hours, for years. In her mind, Tuffnut didn't have a chance, as much as a snowball as a chance in dragon fire.

Tuffnut smiled smugly knowing that that was exactly what Astrid would do. "I can assure you i don't know what you are talking about." he replied. "But sure, i take it back. You aren't an uptight woman that could snap anyone's arms like a twig."
The twig part was true at least, not that Tuffnut was going to test it. He only messed with Astrid when he had to

"Good. I guess I won't have to beat you to fish pulp." she continued to glower in Tuffnut's direction, throwing more punches and kicks for good measure. One was aimed at his shoulder, another kick aimed at the gut, and one open palmed slap to the face. She'd hope they'd hit their marks, but you could never be to sure with a cocky target.
"Uh, your such an idiot Tuffnut." she growled, rolling her eyes. "Probably why you're Tuffnut, your head's one tough nut to crack." she'd personally thought it was funny. But than again, she never did have the sense of humor the other teens seemed to be born with, though like all of them, sarcasm ran thickly in her veins, only emphasized with adrenaline.

The fight seemed to be dying down. Hiccup allowed himself to pull away from the tree trunk and stared at the pair, uncertain of whether or not he really should move from his spot or dare to ask if the fight was over. Neither of them had killed the other, so that was good. He wouldn't have to tell anyone that Astrid had killed Tuffnut or that Tuffnut had tried to kill Astrid. That, at the very least, was a good thing. The redhead didn't want to have to worry about having to think of an excuse for what had happened to them. What was more fortunate was the fact that he hadn't been pulled into the fight himself.
Pitiful. Hiccup thought, realizing that he could have just run back to Berk and forgotten about the fight entirely. How much more pitiful could he have appeared? He really was a coward now that he thought about it. A complete and total coward. He hadn't even tried to jump in and stop the two blonds from tearing each other apart. Hiccup gave a little shake of his head, clearly disappointed in himself, but said nothing. At least, not for the moment.
After brushing himself off, trying to get scraps of stray bark off of his clothing, Hiccup looked up to Astrid and Tuffnut again. Might as well ask if it's safe. he told himself. "So uh... is it safe to say you two aren't going to try and kill each other anymore? Can we go back to relaxing now?" Hiccup asked at last. "Or would it be better if we just gave up on things being quiet now and just... do something else?" Hiccup asked quietly.

Tuffnut glanced at Hiccup. "Well, i think we're done kiliing each other...for today." he said with a smirk. "There's always tomorrow right Astrid?" the boy asked. He could feel the awkwardness in Hiccup, with a sigh he turned to the red headed boy. "Look, do you want to be stuck as a weakling for the rest of your life?" he didn't wait for the question to be answered.
Astrid would probably kill him if he wasn't nice to Hiccup, especially after almost making him an exile. "I could teach you some you know my cool viking moves." he replied. "However if you tell anyone i offered you that, i will personally make sure that you eat your own teeth."

"Oh, gee, you caught me. I was hoping to stay the twiggiest Viking for the rest of my life." Hiccup replied, sarcasm dripping from his tone like water. Regardless of that fact, Hiccup was surprised by Tuffnut's offer. The blond boy had taken such great pains to torment him after the incident and it seemed unlikely that he would be so willing to teach Hiccup of all people. Then again, perhaps Astrid's presence had an influence on that fact. Tuffnut could have been avoiding her getting angry at him for all Hiccup knew. He was still cautious, though. Hiccup would be lying to himself if he said he fully trusted the blond boy to not turn him into a whimpering puddle of mush.
"If you are serious about this, can we do it... ya know, on the ground? That way we can avoid potentially killing ourselves." Hiccup suggested. Leave it the scrawny Viking to think logically. He just didn't like the odds of coming away from fighting lessons without any serious injuries if it was to take place in a tree. A tall tree, at that. Hiccup didn't even consider what learning how to fight might entail. Whatever he had gotten himself in to, though, obviously wouldn't be easy to get out of. Vikings were nothing if not determined. Hiccup knew that well enough, and so doubted that Tuffnut would be any less determined to teach... even if he was probably unwilling.

Astrid brushed the dirt from her face, straightening up from her crouch. A smirk lighted her lips at both Hiccup's suggestion and Tuffnut's. She first turned her head to Hiccup and shrugged, brushing her bangs back again, placing one hand on her hip.
"Yeah I guess would could relax for a bit." she turned her head back to the tree and then to the water, comtemplating what would be more 'relaxing.' Another climb or sitting around in the water. Well, she didn't want her clothes wet, and she had already climbed a tree... and that turned out well. Turning back to Tuffnut, she winked. "You can count on it."
His next suggestion utterly shocked Astrid. One, because he was Tuffnut, he had no cool moves, at least, he had nothing on her, and second, didn't he hate Hiccup? Her eyebrows rose in clear suspicion. Her lips pressed together in thought. But she let herself relax, maybe it was guy thing? What was it called? Bromance or something? Astrid shook her head, a slow smile appeared on her lips. She strided over to Hiccup as he asked that if they trained to keep his feet firmly on the ground, giving him a slight elbow, at least she hoped it was soft. She smiled, "Afraid of heights?" she joked, rolling her eyes.

"What? No, of course not!" Hiccup replied defensively, finally lowering himself from the branch he had been on and on to the ground. Why he hadn't done so in the first place was a good question. He had every opportunity to move, but he'd stayed in the tree. It was either a slow reaction on his part or just the unwillingness to get himself involved in the fight if it moved closer to where he had been. He gave a little shrug after a moment and folded his arms across his chest in a sort of 'matter of fact' manner. "If I were afraid of heights, I wouldn't have climbed that tree. Or slammed my face into it in the attempt of climbing it." he explained. Hiccup's face did still hurt a bit from the head first slam against the tree. Stupidity on his part, really.
"I, for one, would prefer not only to keep my feet on the ground while fighting but also would prefer to not risk falling out of a tree and breaking an arm. Or a leg. Or just something in general." Hiccup stated. Call him cautious, but he wasn't intending on getting injured any further after being subjected to what he had already. "Or would you prefer having to carry me back because I broke something?" he asked smugly. That seemed like a good enough argument to Hiccup. Why risk injuring themselves and making the other two carry one of them back in case something happened?

Tuffnut rolled his eyes at Astrid. "What? You don't think i can be nice for once in my life?" he asked. He could almost read her suspcious and surprise. He just shrugged. "I mean its the least we can do after all, he's the chief's son..." he turned to Hiccup. "No offense but you suck at...well pretty much everything."
As long as no one else found out then they would be good. He still hated Hiccup but they couldn't at least be allies at something, and if it could make the boy stronger htan it would be better for the rest of the students. They couldn't be stuck with Hiccup's reputation

Emerald eyes narrowed slightly, but in the end Hiccup couldn't come up with a good enough argument to try and defend himself with. He really was pathetic in terms of doing... well, anything Viking related. As Gobber had stated many times before, he just wasn't good at trying to be a Viking. That was usually followed by some kind of remark regarding the fact that he needed to stop being all of... him. Hiccup found it annoying that he couldn't be himself. Was he just not good enough for the Viking standards? Regardless, Hiccup couldn't leave Tuffnut's remark without an answer.
"Thank you for summing that up, Tuffnut. I couldn't have done it without you." Hiccup remarked sarcastically. He knew he wasn't anything special in terms of being a Viking. He didn't feel the need to be reminded of that fact, especially not by Tuffnut. That just made it all the more annoying for Hiccup. Tuffnut clearly wasn't as good as say... Astrid. She at least was a tough Viking in terms of being a girl. Even Hiccup would say that she was good enough to be one of the guys. Then again, women generally had to be as good as the men, if not better, if they wanted to last long against a dragon. Shaking away that thought, Hiccup returned his attention to the subject at hand. That, of course, being learning to fight. Or at least attempting to do so.
"So, since you're apparently the master... tell me what it is I need to do." Hiccup said at last. He wasn't all that impressed, at least not yet, by what might potentially go down. He had seen enough of Astrid and Tuffnut's fight to know that Astrid, at least, was more of a Viking than Tuffnut. Tuffnut probably didn't even have any moves to speak of. What was he going to teach the scrawny little redhead?

Astrid couldn't help but smile as Hiccup defended himself against her accusation. Explaining how he'd never climbed the tree not 'made out' with it in the attempt to get up. She didn't argue. At his suggestion that if she'd like to carry him back to Berk because of an injury, she tapped her shoulder pads lightly. "I'll carry you over my shoulder, no sweat."
Astrid narrowed her piercing blue eyes at Tuffnut's words. Her lip curled into a smirk, and she raised an eyebrow, as if inquiring something. "Would you like the truth or a lie? How 'bout the truth?" the blonde smirked, "Nope, not at all. Even if he's the chief's son, never stopped you before." It was her born paranoia talking, but then again, what Viking could survive without it? Suspicious as the girl was, she couldn't disagree with Tuffnut's next point. It seemed amazing that Hiccup could handle the blacksmith's forge. He had to have some sort of strength carrying the irons and metals. Right?
The blonde scoffed as Hiccup called Tuffnut the master, heading to lean her back against a tree to inform Tuffnut and Hiccup of criticisms that came to mind. Leaning against the tree, the blonde observed what Tuffnut was about to say and what Hiccup would do. If they started training now, Hiccup might just have to accept her offer of carrying him back to camp. Tuffnut wasn't as tough as her, at least, not in her mind. But he was stronger than Hiccup, she was almost sure of that.

Tuffnut smirked. "What you aren't going to help Miss Dragon Killer?" he asked Astrid. "I think that Hiccup needs some man and girl action." he turned back to the boy, enjoying the fact that he was being called master. "Okay, first of all..." he replied. "Hit me."

"...Come again?"
Hiccup found himself rather dumbfounded by the suggestion. Tuffnut was suggesting he, Hiccup, try to hit him? That was like... asking a Terrible Terror to take on a Nightmare. It just didn't seem right, let alone logical, to do such a thing. Not to mention it seemed fairly suicidal. However, Hiccup felt as though he wouldn't be getting out of the situation all that easily if he didn't do something. It would be stupid, yes, but he might as well go along with it for the time being. After all, what could go wrong?
Oh, you could get pulverized, end up with a black eye, a broken limb...
Hiccup didn't let himself finish the negative thoughts whirling through his head. There was no reason he should be thinking such things, anyway. Hiccup had half a mind to just walk away, but that would be about as likely to happen as Snotlout actually winning Astrid's attention. Ergo, it was impossible. So, without giving Tuffnut a chance to respond to his question regarding just what the blond was thinking by asking him to punch him, Hiccup decided to make his move.
Had Hiccup been properly trained in the art of fighting, he might have realized that his form was fairly... wrong. He didn't have a proper understanding of how to make a punch more or less powerful, and so what he ended up doing, which was attempting to punch Tuffnut in the shoulder like what had been done to him, was more or the less the equivalent of hitting someone with a rolled up piece of paper... and not doing so with all that much force. In other words, it was pitiful.

Tuffnut was not amused by the hit. "What was that?" he asked confused and completely horrified. This was the chief's son? Wow, no wonder why he hated his life so much. "I am not a teddy bear, come on, hit me like you mean it!" he replied. "If you want to be a good viking you gotta not hold back."

"Uh... that would be a punch." Hiccup replied, no doubt the slightest bit surprised by the question. He had thought he had done fairly well. Of course he had no idea just how pitiful it really was. How would he have known, anyway? He'd never been asked to try hitting anyone before. Mainly the reason was he was much scrawnier than the other Vikings, particularly when they were children, and so he hadn't had a chance to participate in what would have been considered a normal activity for them. Mainly, hitting one another to determine who was stronger.
It was fairly safe to say that Hiccup really had no idea of what he was doing. Fighting was about as natural to him as speaking an understandable language would have been to a dragon. Thinking about it, it really was some kind of miracle that Hiccup had been able to work in Gobber's forge at all. He was such a weakling it was a wonder he got anything accomplished without problems. But would this one minor setback keep Hiccup from attempting it again? ...Frankly, the answer to that question was beginning to look like an undeniable yes. Hiccup couldn't help but roll his eyes as he moved his arm back again. "...Okay, if you really want me to." Hiccup finally grumbled. He wasn't sure where any of this was getting him, but it seemed like the better option would be going along with the supposed lesson.
Due to not having a clue about what he was doing, Hiccup still suffered from not understanding just what he was supposed to do with his fist to make a punch stronger. Once again, Hiccup attempted to punch Tuffnut. The results, unsurprisingly, were about the same as before. Fist made contact with shoulder, but it didn't seem to leave much of an impact on Hiccup's part. In fact, it was difficult for Hiccup to tell if his punch was any more powerful than the previous one.
