Anyways, Dayla and Willow, i offically give over to Flynn and Rapunzel. I hope that no one gives up on being Rapunzel or Flynn because their kids are so much fun to write.
anyways enjoy the first new story.
Bed Time Stories
“I really don’t want to do this!” Sinbad said with a grumble of disgust. “You know that right.”
“Oh I know but I’m not giving you a choice.” Rapunzel said with a smirk. “I’ve got to finish my painting.”
“What about Flynn?” Sinbad asked. “He could do it!”
“He’s busy with other things.” The brunette said. “You know that Proteus is busy with a royal meeting so he can’t do it either.”
Sinbad sighed and looked at her with annoyed eyes. “What am I supposed to tell them?”
“I don’t know, tell them about one of your adventures.” Rapunzel said. “You have plenty.”
With nothing more to say, the brunette left. With a sigh, Sinbad walked into the big library, a fireplace lighting the room. He was just lucky that the Fitzhurbert family had decided to visit Syracuse. After a moment he looked around him.
Kids, all of them of various ages. One of them was hugging a small princess doll that had freckles on her face and red hair. The fellow brunette beside her was looking around the library, her eyes twinkling with fascination. These two were Willow Rose and Dayla. Rapunzel and Flynn’s girls. His own son Proteus the second was busy reading, or at least trying to read a book bigger than his own head.
And in the center of the group was a red headed girl with blue eyes. She had her father’s delicate face. She was wearing a bright lavender nightgown, holding a teddy bear. This, was Opal, Proteus and Ariel’s one and only daughter.
“Are you going to tell us a story Uncle Sinbad?” Willow asked, her green eyes growing big.
“I sure am.” Sinbad said taking a seat.
“What about?” Dayla asked coldly.
“What do you want to know about?” Sinbad asked.
“Oh, oh, oh.” Opal said waving her hand excitedly. “I know I know.”
Sinbad had to laugh at her enthusiasm. He nodded at her to speak. “Tell us about one of your adventures. Where you got lots of treasures.”
Sinbad hesitated at the idea. True, there were plenty of stories like that. They were darker than they were for little girls. Though Proteus was there, he was wondering where his many daughters had gone.
“Unless they aren’t real.” Dayla smirked. “Come on Uncle Sinbad, tell us.”
Willow looked at him with big puppy dog eyes. Proteus looked down from his book, his brown eyes curious. “Alright, alright, you all win.” He sighed. “I’ll tell you.”
“Yay!” Willow and Opal cheered with delight.
With a smile at the girls and his son, he started to tell his story. He remembered that night like it had happened yesterday. The waters had been rougher than usual and a storm was coming. His crew was doing his best to keep the boat fixed and ready.
“Kale.” Sinbad yelled. “What’s the status?”
“It’s not looking good captain.” Kale said. “We need to find land soon, the boat can’t take much more of it.”
With a nod, Sinbad had forced the wheel towards the nearest island. However, a huge wave knocked the crew over the side. He turned to the kids. “It was then that I thought we were all goners.” He replied. “Yet, something had saved us.”
“What was it?” Willow squeaked, hugging her doll tightly.
“Would you believe it was Eris?” Sinbad asked.
“No way!” Dayla said. “She wouldn’t save you, she hates you!”
“What can I say?” he smirked. “The lady can’t stop chasing me.”
Dayla rolled her eyes but smiled at her uncle’s crazy attitude. “So what really happened?”
“Well, from what I can tell you is that we washed up on an island. An island that is much bigger than Syracuse.” He replied. “Filled with as many different things as your eyes can see.” The pirate stood up on the chair. “There were all kinds of wild creatures and lovely sights.” Sinbad turned to the little red head. “But what caught our eyes was a cave.”
The girls inched closer wanting to know more. “My crew and I made our way into it. The walls were filled with rainbow crystals, and the ground was covered with small pieces of rubies. When the light hit them just right, the cave was filled with beautiful colors, however, what we wanted most was at the end of the cave. Treasures that we have never seen before, tiaras, scepters, jewels, necklaces and such.” It was a good memory. “So, we managed to get it all on the ship and headed home.”
Dayla frowned. “That’s not a true story!” she said. “You said it was true!”
“You think I’m lying?” Sinbad asked.
“Of course I think you are lying. You always lie!” she said. “I want proof.”
Shaking his head, the pirate smiled and pulled out a bag from his pocket, shaking it out, three objects fell out. A beautiful small tiara with quarts and rubies inside, a pair of sapphire earrings and finally a small prism crystal necklace that when held close to the fire rainbows surrounded them.
Standing up, Sinbad placed the tiara on little Dayla’s head, it slipped and covered her eyes. “You’ll grow into it!” he said with a smile messing up his niece’s head. Handing Opal the earrings, she squealed with delight before running from the room. Willow held the crystal necklace close to her.
“Alright girls.” Sinbad turned to see Flynn coming up. “Time for bed.”
“Awwww!” Willow and Dayla moaned.
Flynn shook his head and led the girls into the bed room, before returning to Sinbad. “I thought you hated girls.”
“I do, but I’m stuck with those two.” His brother responded. “It’s your fault.”
Flynn rolled his eyes and smirked. “I’ve never heard that story before. What really happened?”
“What makes you think that didn’t happen?” Sinbad asked.
“It seemed too easy.” Flynn said. “You didn’t run into Eris?”
“Maybe I did. Maybe I didn’t.” Sinbad smirked. “That’s my secret.”
Flynn shook his head but smiled. “Goodnight Sinbad.” He said before retreating towards he and Rapunzel’s room.
With a smile, Sinbad turned to go find Marina and Proteus. Suddenly though he felt someone tug on his pants. Looking down, little Willow looked up at him with big eyes. “Thank you for the story Uncle Sinbad.” She said.
“You’re welcome little one.” Sinbad smiled.
“Do you think you can tell us another one tomorrow night?” she asked, hugging her doll tightly.
“It would be my honor. Princess.” He said giving her a hug. “Now off to bed with you.”
“I knew you had a soft spot.” Rapunzel replied with a smirk as she approached him.
“That’s not my fault.” Sinbad said. “You and the others changed me.”
“Is that such a bad thing?” she asked.
“No. No, not at all.” Sinbad said with a small smile. “It’s nice.”
