A smaller pony was a bit nervous to join the group. Unlike the much bigger ponies, she was so much smaller. Extremely small, but that didn't stop her. Her blue headband had been replaced by a bow so it bounced along with her orange mane as she walked to join the group. Her cutie mark was a pair of music notes.
"H-h-hello." she said with a smile

Astrid glared at Hiccup, eyes blazing, her blonde tail lashing from side to side. He didn't need this? HE didn't need this? Well she didn't either, and whenever something bad happened, Hiccup was normally involved. Whether it was accidental or something he'd tried to accomplish gone wrong. The blonde turned to Duke first.
"Funny big guy." she snorted, head whipping to the red head hiding behind him. "Fine, hide the runt. I will make him pay for whatever he's done to get the gods to hate me. Or to have gotten Loki's attention." she snorted, eyes blazing 'through' the blonde to the redhead.
Duke was right, he was in for a world of, hurt. Or atleast, that's hwat was going on in Astrid's mind. Taking one last time to stamp her hoof, a warning, and then charged. Leaping up to either step off of Duke, hopefully throwing him down in the process to get to Hiccup, or to jump over him. The pony was tall, taller than her, but she seemed to have faith that her dragon killing abilities had traveled on to her in this new form. Atleast, she hoped. THe knowledge was there, but was the muscle memory?
Astrid hadn't had the time to notice the tiny pony, her full attention focused on the omen of bad luck and the obstacle blocking her from it.

Giselle stared at the group from her sky way view. Her orange fairy/butterfly wings flapping in sync as she landed. "Is everything alright?" she asked. Her cutie mark was a needle and thread. Her talent, sewing and crafting. She was still unsure of why she was a pony.
Thumbelina took a step back. They were all so bigger than she was, oh why did she have to be cursed with being so small

"No, everything is not all right! I'm about to be killed by someone I thought was a friend!" Hiccup replied, barely having a chance to leap back so he could put a bit more space between him and Astrid. This was insane! All Hiccup wanted to do was go back to being human, wake up back in Berk, and go back to being the ignored scrawny son of the chief that he was supposed to be. ...Or be somebody. Whatever worked. Something was bothering him, though. Hiccup found himself glancing at the flanks of the other ponies present. Each and every one of them had a marking except for him. Even the tiny pony!
"...Okay, really now. Why do all of you have those markings?" Hiccup asked at last. Maybe a chance in topic would keep him alive. "Furthermore, why don't I have one?" he asked.

Giselle shrugged. "I don't know, all i know is that i have one. It looks like sewing material, you know a needle and thread. I loved sewing and making things so maybe that's why i have one." she replied lowering herself to the ground. "Though I'm sorry you don't have one..." worry filled the blue eyes of the pegasus pony.

Only one conclusion filled the redish-brown pony's head when Giselle explained what she thought her marking meant. It meant that she had a talent. She was somebody. Important. Worth something. He, on the other hoof... well... his flank was blank. Emerald eyes fell to the grassy ground, disappointment evident in them as he temporarily forgetting the threat of Astrid. "So... what does having no marking mean, then?" Hiccup murmured. Did it just mean that he was as useless as everybody thought he was?
Hey, look on the bright side. Maybe you're not completely unlucky. If you were, your marking would be like... a 13 or something, right? he wondered silently. That was at least a somewhat comforting thought. Maybe he wasn't completely unlucky. That ruled out unluckiness somewhat. Was there a marking for uselessness, though? That was doubtful... maybe just not having a marking symbolized that.

Giselle shook her head. "maybe it just means you haven't found out what makes you special." she replied. "I mean not everyone knows what they really are as soon as they are born, it takes time." she replied sitting down on the ground

An enraged Pony Astrid reared onto her hind legs, read to lunge at the red head again, snorting in rage. Her icy blue eyes blazed with anger and reckless fury. Her paws lunged for the ground, reaching ever closer to Hiccup, accept she'd stopped still. Her legs splayed as if she were going to go into a crouch, pony head tilted comically, mouth slightly agape with one eyebrow raised.
"No, everything is not all right! I'm about to be killed by someone I thought was a friend!" Technically, Astrid had no friends. If you considered a friend someone you'd share your secrets with and spent most of your time with. If a friend was someone you'd risked your life for, well than Astrid had a lot of friends. Pawing at the ground uncomfortably and making a small zig-zag line backwards. Unable to go through with the vicious attack she'd had planned.
Marks? What marks? The mare twisted her neck looking at her flank where her hips was. A double edged axe smeared with blood on one side was there. A swell of pride rose in her chest. She looked over to the other two mare's markings, sewing and music. And then to Hiccup's. She craned her neck to each side. He had none on his hip.
Astrid rolled her eyes. "I don't know Hiccup. And maybe your's is just invisble?" sarcasm dripped from her voice. Though she couldn't really doubt it, in the village the scrawny teen was invisible until he screwed something up.

Hiccup snapped to attention as Astrid spoke. Though her comment had been sarcastic, at least she didn't sound like she planned on attacking him anymore. The typical Hiccup expression, one that appeared rather unimpressed, returned to his features after she finished speaking. "Ha ha. Very funny." Hiccup remarked sarcastically. Though, maybe she had a point. He practically was invisible back home. Maybe that was his talent; going unnoticed by everyone of importance and just getting in the way the majority of the time.
"Or, or maybe it just means the gods are spiting me again." he suggested with a light laugh, trying to put a positive spin on the situation. Hiccup thought it was funny at the very least. Maybe the gods had just chosen to not give him a marking out of spite.

The pegasus had shut his eyes tight, blue orbs covered by lids expecting impact, his teeth ground together and the corners of his mouth lowered. Nothing. This caused his mouth to close in just a line, his eyes blinking open to see the pony just sitting there. The talk of marks caused Duke to laugh on the inside. Like he had a mark. But when he craned his neck to see the mark on his flank. The mark perplexed him for a while. A star. Truly, a star had been on his flank. He supposed it was much better than sewing needles.
Until he thought about it a bit more. Red. What other word started with r and e? Renegade. the pegasus thought instantly once he realized what it had probably meant. He suddenly wished he hadn't gotten one, figuring that through the mark everyone would know who he was. He turned to look at the wingless pony behind him. Astrid seemed to have come to a halt with her plan of attack, so that gave an opportunity to keep the peace. Green and brown equine decided to throw in his two cents about the marking.
"Y'know, you might be better off without one. You could have some horrible mark instead of none. Like a princess tiara. Or a rock." he said with a pony shrug. "You could've been a unicorn for all we know." His gaze fell upon the other ponies. Both were female. It looked like Hiccup and Duke were outnumbered as far as gender went.

Astrid gave a slight whiny of amusement as she turned her head to see Duke. His eyes just opened, releasing the crinkles that had formed when he had shut his eyes tightly. Had she looked that scary? She shook her withers, and part of her mane, giving a small snort of satisfaction. It felt so odd to have these horse instincts in her, able to feel every move and pull and loosen up muscles as easily if she had been on two legs instead of four. She was now able to adjust each new muscle she'd never noticed or had in human form.
"No, if the gods had been spiting you, you would have had one, something like spit, or 'fail' written on your side." she teased, rolling her icy orbs. She looked at all the flanks of the other horses, and to her, they weren't that extravagant, she preferred her own to the red star, sewing needles, and music notes any day.
With a pony shrug, Astrid seemed to agree with the other blonde. "Nothing might be better than something." Honestly, she had no clue what Hiccup could have gotten, but if Loki had anything to do with it, it would have been something truly embarrassing. Astrid was sort of proud to be a normal horse, she could only image the taunting of being a unicorn or Pegasus. Plain myths.... but than again.. She shook her head again, ignoring her own thoughts.
The blonde pony looked at the other two females. She stopped herself from cringing away from them. They were just... just.. to soft. Music notes and Sewing needles? She had a feeling she wouldn't exactly fit in with her bloody battle axe. The only horse that seemed to have anything close to hers, was the one with the red star, which seemed to be quite the mystery.

Music notes, sewing needles, Duke wasn't sure what to say about those two cutie marks. Perhaps this was some sort of mistake, they seemed like they could easily fit in to this weird world. And then his blue eyes fell upon Astrid's flank. An axe. Wonderful, it seemed like she was probably in the same position as he was. And Hiccup, probably. Whatever reason it was that they were ponies, it probably wasn't going to make much sense as to why himself, Astrid, and Hiccup were there. The pegasus also found it odd that he had wings. Feathery wings that seemed a bit more natural to his body, unlike Giselle's much more bug-like ones.
Not to say he didn't think those wings weren't intersting, truly, he did think they were a point of interest. The green and brown pegasus decided that, since nobody had a clue as to who he was, he should probably get to know the other equines. After all, who knew how long they'd stay as ponies? Or pegasi, in certain cases. How would they even get back to their normal forms anyways? Duke had a feeling he'd have to get to know these ponies.
"Well... since we've got our butts out of the way, we should probably get to know each other and stick together to figure out what's going on. The name's Duke." he said, glancing at each face. Light colors was something he noticed. Pale yellow, or peach colors dominated the colors of the group. Three out of five. Then Hiccup was a somewhat light red. Then there was Duke, with a pinto pattern of mostly green, the actual pinto coloring brown. Perhaps the pegasus was looking too far into colors.
